Talk about constant use of an object, our garage door opener gear that engages the chain,stripped out after 19 years of use. There is a kit available,which we bought to repair it. The problem is all plastic gears and worm gear on motor. IMO it could have been done in die cast or steel,but I am pleased with the use of it and the availability of repair parts. It's nice to know we don't have to spend another $200.00 for another opener and time to install another one.There have been a lot of ups and downs with the opener over the years,hope this one lasts another 19 years,I'll be outta here by then.
