I grew up near Akron, Ohio. I haven't been back there for many years, so I don't have any idea what's going on now. However, back in the 50s and 60s, Goodyear's headquarters was in Akron. They had a HUGE hangar that they kept their blimps in.
Our scout troop took two different trips to the hangar to look at the blimps. They had deflated one of them on one of the trips, it was a hoot to see it crumpled up.
They flew around Akron a lot so we saw them many times as kids. Really neat.
