Sounds like they had no reason to be on the OP's property.....He said it was mowed and he's on the no spray list, yet they sprayed anyway.
Power company's hire contractors to clear the right of ways, they get paid by the mile or square yard for a set price so these contractors do what makes them the fastest buck and that could be either spray or mow or both. The power company's have no clue what these dorks did until a land owner complains and all they come up with is stupid exuses.
BTDT as i have an high voltage line going trough my pastures and these contractor A-'oles F up every time and they seem to change from one outfit to another as i never see the same outfit twice.
I put a stop to the BS by putting locked gates on each end of my property so they have to come to the yard to ask permission, which i only give if i have the time to go with them and i tell them exactly how i want things done and i charge them $50 an hr for as long as it takes.
If a contractor does not agree with me i refuse him access and notify the power company what happened and let them deal with it.
My land my rules.

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
