I am closely familiar with two sell-offs at opposite ends of the spectrum. The farmer that I worked for as a teen built up his farm over twenty years and sold out in 1968 at around age fifty. He then went on to build up his campground that he had been building up for the last ten years. He and one son fished in FL in the winters. He was more a businessman than farmer. At the other end were my neighbors. They inherited a forty milker farm from their parents with a small mortgage. Over the next ten years they built it up to sixty five with a plant capacity of eighty-five, while they sold off land and development rights in order to stay afloat. In the end they both died deep in debt after farming for forty years.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
