This "new" health care system is just another brick on the load an employer has to carry. It will make jobs harder to find. At least full time jobs. I believe we will be seeing more "full time" part time jobs/employees. Meaning there will be more jobs that are only 30 hours a week.
I will agree that the average working man's wage has not kept pace but also the average has changed too. The standard of living is higher. I maybe should say the extras wanted/needed to be "average" is higher now. Cell phones, cable TV, bigger houses, newer/more cars/trucks per household. People spend more money now than they used too.
I fear that Globalization will keep pressure on the standard of living in this country. IF you can hire another firm in India for half to design some thing then that puts pressure on the domestic design companies.
What is the cost of the government mandated heath care in India??? China??? Think about that for awhile.
