The short answer is yes, no problem. Considerations, however, are that your 8N needs to be in reasonably good condition, and you will have a degree of frustration in not having the capability to just step on the clutch to stop the tractor from moving ahead while the baler keeps working, due to no live PTO. Balers don't don't take much power. When I started out I baled with a 19 HP Kubota, but it had hydrostat transmission. You will most likely need to stay in first gear unless your hay crop is fairly light. You will even be able to pull a wagon behind the baler if you ground is fairly level. Back in the day there were tens of thousands of 8Ns pulling balers.
