I remember going to a Thousand Trails campground near Leavenworth, eastern Washington years ago- sign at the check-in hut said "Don't roll windows down! Show membership card through window." The guy had a full bee-keeper outfit on, and cases of insect repellent, which he gave you if you didn't have any. I'd never seen so many BIG mosquitos- the repellent worked pretty well, especially after we went back and re-sprayed the areas that the skeeters showed us we missed (between the toes, and palms of hands, for instance). Made for a pretty miserable campout, though.
Saw a couple of clouds of them at my place yesterday, which is kind of unusual. Our variety isn't very aggressive, though.
