This is more the "sky is falling" propaganda. If 3000 people die that is of course tragic but putting in prospective that is .00001% of the US population. They don't say how many of those were already in a weakened state from some other illness of lack of exercise. I could say that eating dill pickles will kill you because 95% of all people who died last year ate a dill pickle. That don't make it true and even if the percentage is correct the data is flawed.
Just for curiosity, what is the food quality in other countries? It would be hard to judge because other countries may have a more active lifestyle or have other health issues.
