I know I could post this in the combine section, but it is a general question. I have an Oliver 7300 combine. There is a bearing on the end of the crankshaft. it is outside the block on the opposite end from the fan. On a regular application it would be where the flywheel would bolt up. It has two pulleys on it. One is for the main drive belt. The second one is for the belt that drives the threashing cylinder. Beyond the pulleys is the bearing I have a question about. This bearing fits on the end of the crankshaft. The outside of this bearing fits into a castiron support housing. If you need to change a belt you have to remove this housing....thus needing to either remove this bearing from the crankshaft or from the housing.
Now after all this information here is my question......Can I put some antiseize on the outside of the bearing to make removal easier? Will it cause the bearing to turn in the housing? Are there any reasons I should not use it?
