Since we started with chickens about 10 years ago I can no longer eat store bought eggs. Store bought: runny, pale yoke; no flavor. Home grown: rich flavor, egg yoke is Allis Chalmers orange!
Our cow poo only consists of chewed grass. Chickens like the day or two old cow pies because they'll have bugs. Chickens not eating the cow poo; eating the bugs that are eating the cow poo. They also eat mice, snakes and table scraps. Did you know chickens will drink milk out of a bowl? I didn't tell them it had turned and they didn't seem to notice.
One thing I recall they did NOT eat. A long time ago Waco had a Krispy Kreme donut store open up for a while, I think it lasted about a year. Anyway we ended up with some donuts of theirs from some event and one or two ended up in the scrap bucket. Chickens would not even touch it! Chickens will eat just about anything except Krispy Kreme donuts.
If it's so bad that a chicken won't eat it then I probably shouldn't eat it either!
