Been watching the rears on the handy little SC for quite a few years, knowing those big cracks in the sidewalls would some day take a bite out of the tube. I've been kind of looking out of one eye for another set of tires but they never fell in my lap so I rode it out till the bitter end, and the end came last Monday. The new Firestones will be here tomorrow and should last me out, or at least they had better last me out for what they cost!!. The Firestones were $100 more per tire more than the off brands but I have a fairly good feeling about the choice. The rims are cleaned up and coated with epoxy primer that's had a good chance to harden so I shouldn't have tubes glued to the rim some day. The old ones came off a junked Farmall H twenty years ago so I guess they don't owe me anything, but the new ones still take quite a bit out of the pocket book! Jim
