Remember the song, "Truck Driver's Prayer"? (Let me run the wheels plumb off a Greyhound bus)
One of my wife's brothers claim he did pass a Greyhound bus with an 18 wheeler once. I found it kind of hard to believe, but I didn't argue with him.
I was coming across Wyoming once in a Continental Trailways bus. I happened to be sitting where I could see the speedometer. On that long open stretch between Rawlins and Laramie, at 2am with no traffic, the speedo was sitting right on 115.
