With that many miles perhaps the lifter(s) need adjustment. If the wear exceeds the amount the lifter can take up, clicking can result. On my 1977 wood hauler (300 Ford six) I had several clicking lifters. After removing the valve cover it was pretty easy to identify the loose ones by checking at the pushrods with the engine running. The noise went away after a turn CW and I give them another 3/4 turn to give it some margin. That was several years back and the engine is still silent. No amount of snake oil will fix a lifter that is out of it's adjustment range.
