One of my good friend"s father was on a ship waiting to invade Japan when the A-bombs were dropped. The soldiers were very aware of how tough the fighting had been on Iwo Jima and Okinawa, and really did not think they would survive the invasion and occupation of Japan.
Most of those soldiers survived and millions of Japanese citizens also survived because of the decisions to use the nuclear weapons and also some other factors, like the Soviets threatening to help defeat Japan.
Anyhow, that soldier came home, got married and within a couple of years Cliff was born. Harry S. Truman was always that soldier"s hero, and is one of mine, for making the right decision about something that has been debated ever since.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
