Just bough my very first set of NEW (rear) tires for the old tractor. The set getting replaced was on it when I bought it and I have had it for 10 years now. Guessing they have been on 20-25 years. The tractor doesnt leave the farm much so the tread was still about half but the old sidewalls just gave out. Im sure mounting them will be quite a learning experiance (thankfull to a good friend with a bead breaker that has done the job many times!) I only bought the bias tires and I got a 5 year field hazzard warranty on them, If they last as long as the old ones they wont really be too bad of a cost per year. -guess thats how I look at it to make myself feel better about it! That and it is no good without them so I better take care of the old girl so she will last me.
