nitenpyram. You can give it every day. I get it from littlecitydogs.com. Its not expensive. Starts killing fleas on the dog in about 30 minutes. It only lasts 24 hrs. You can give it to cats, too.
Dogs at the farm had ticks really bad this year and then the fleas got started. Tried Frontline, but it was ineffective. Tried Adantix II and it has worked. No ticks, but still seeing some fleas.
Treat their bedding and yard. Vacuum rugs and furniture to suck up eggs and larva.
Best yard treatment is beneficial nematodes. Very effective, but once you get them started you can't use any pesticides or you will kill the nematodes. You put them out once and don't have to treat next year or the next, etc.
Last year my dog in Dallas was covered with fleas. Put out the nematodes and haven't seen a flea this year.
