there are two types of marine batterys. one is a marine cranking battery and the other is a deep cycle marine battery. deep cycle has finer plates to supply a low power drain over a long period of time. a marine cranking battery has heavy plates to supply high initial amperage for starting an engine. the batterys are heavier constructed to handle the shock from pounding thru waves.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
