: Have bucket, and can't find any fluid res. Also what is the gear oil capacity and type. Also would appreciate info on how to check gear oil.Tractor has cap below seat. The cap below & behind the seat is the hyd fill cap. The dipstick should be at the rear of the right side footrest. A knurled knob about 5/8" in dia. and 1" tall. Unscrew it to check fluid level. The transmission & rear end housings are the reservior, and hyd oil lubes the gears & shafts of the drivetrain. The hyd filter is on the right side bottom of the trans housing, just ahead of the rear axle. It is a cartridge type filter. I will guess the system capacity is around 7 gallons or so. Use a good quality trans/ hyd/wet brake oil if you are not using JD HyGard. DO NOT use: ATF, or GearLube of any sort. Good Luck
