Greg,

"LOU from Wi.- I have tried to stay out of your posts. But your responses to some posters have really blown me away."

To blow you away it wouldn't take more than a puff of a hummingbirds wing to do that.

"First- "Your dam rite. I'm special.". My reply- NO your are NOT special."

My reply to you, Yes I am special, I defy you to show me another person who is as good at the things I can do and have the same genetic makeup that I do, and maybe this is a fact that you cannot grasp, I am honest and take giving my word to anyone a great asset and a gift. Just as playing jazz piano is. I am sure you think it's just common cause to say one thing to someone and do the exact opposite, just because you can make a buck or two more. That is one reason I won't trust anyone who does this as I am sure from your writing it must be common practice for you to do in your daily living.

"Second- "We have been buying wood from the same guy for years. As a steady customer, year after year, our family has been faithful customer, forsaking all other loggers because we were faithful buyers." Once again, NO you were not faithful customers. You bought the wood at what you thought was a 'good' price."

If I wanted to I could have dealt with different loggers over the years, who were cheaper and offered their product to us at a cheaper rate, but I didn't. Why you ask, because I gave my word to the man, and I kept it.

"If you don't like his price you are free to decline the purchase of the wood but, he does not OWE you anything."

See I told you this must be your common daily practice, giving his word that next years wood would be same price and then change after he can make a few dollars more speaks volumes to me about his character. A fact I learned too late in his dealings.A fact which you will never learn.

"Third- "What should have been his obligation to us was to let us know about the price change and why the price increase. He chose to say the price change was the mills doing. B.S." From what you posted, he DID notify you of the price change."

Here you go again, he did NOT notify us, we called him to see when he could deliver the wood, and that is when he told me the price was increased because of the mill directed him to increase his price.

"Fourth- "What the reason was He could sell wood to the mills for more money then we would be willing to pay." I would do the same as him."

Your word is as worthless as the breath you use to utter such nonsense and shouldn't be trusted.

"Fifth- "Sure as heck ,it is his right to go after the money and forsake his loyal customers. Like throwing all his customers "UNDER THE BUS so to speak"." You were only LOYAL to him as long as he was selling wood to 'cheap'."

We were loyal to him for the simple fact he could count on us as repeat customers, sharing his name with friends for extra customers. I was asked by others to buy wood from them for a cheaper rate, but as I said before I keep my word, and he was always prompt when dealing with us another plus in his favor. During the years he notified us a price increase due to fuel costs etc, and we kept our word and dealt with him. After this last episode there was no notice, just stating the mill set his price, which is BS, he sets the price, not the mill.

"Sixth- "There is a right way of doing business and a wrong way. He chose the wrong way, as far as we are concerned." That is your choice and I hope you get enough wood gathered to keep you warm this winter."
That is fact,he chose to not notify us until we called. Don't worry about us not keeping warm, as I stated we have done it before, we can do it again.

"Seventh- "Were not at his mercy for heating material,. Like I said we are a strong family and self sufficient bunch." See #6"

see above answer.

"Eighth- " I'll bet the mills don't pay in CASH like we always do, so his income wouldn't be counted against him ,if he chose to do his business that way" It seems to me that "if he chose to do his business that way" was an afterthought on your behalf. I kinda feel that you knew what was going on."

I do not know what he did as a fact, as I wasn't in charge of his book keeping, his honesty is of his own making, If I spend cash elsewhere do I ask if they are going to report it. NO, it is not of my concern, I paid for the product, they take care of the after occurrences.

"Ninth- "When this buying spree is over for the mills price, he will find out his loyal customer base is gone." NO, this 'buying spree' is here to stay. Energy prices will continue to climb."

As long as there are fools to buy it it sure will, but I am not going to perpetuate that type, I'll make up wood myself and save the extra costs for other things. You keep going along with the sheep and keep paying exorbitant prices I'm sure you will figure it out when you run out of $$.

"Tenth- "He will gain for a short time, but in the end he will lose bigger." NO, he won't lose. He will continue to find customers although it may not be you."

I wouldn't bank on it, once you start breaking your word it doesn't take long for people to figure out what you are and can't be trusted and go elsewhere.I have personally seen it several times over my lifetime. A BS artist never changes it only gets worse. SOUND FAMILIAR?

"First of all, I hope you understand that I am not trying to be mean nor hurtful to wards you."

Same goes for me, I say these things to you, not to be hurtful, only to educate you on how honest people do business and expect to be treated in their lives. Hopefully it's not too late for you to learn this and experience what being honest can do for ones self worth.

By the way, I had a happy birthday, until you decided to grace my post with your lack of knowledge concerning honest people and honest business dealings.

LOU

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing. ... [Read Article]
