I would be scared of the folks being dishonest, when they put up a pic of a restored beautiful tractor and are actually selling a three wheeled non running clunker. While they tell it like it is, they are obviously trying to over represent it with that pic..... Wonder what other selling tricks they are using....
I'm not up on the newer Oliver's, but about that time they had some really odd engines didnt they, that have no parts available? I would look into that for sure.
With overheating and not running, it will basically need an engine transplant. If it were a simple problem that would fix it themselves. So, price out an engine and availability to get a real cost of where you will be.
What is the rest of the tractor going to be like, tranny, clutch, hydraulics? With it not running, how much else will you need to stick into it? If it were repairable the current owners likely would do so, hold that close to home as you look it over, don't look at their shiny pretty picture and think of what it could be, look at what is actually there and what all you will need to do to make it working, I suspect the engine is the tip of the iceberg?
But, I've blown $500 on things with less potential for return! :)
