Got a surprise a couple years ago. Coming home from town saw a strange vehicle on the road & my mailbox lying on the ground. Nobody in driver seat, lady in shotgun seat had a sheepish grin. Thought the driver had walked up to house to report. Wrong! Lady in shotgun seat was our friendly mail carrier, first day with newer car. Said she opened door to put mail in & it just fell over. New post time. It is one of those green plastic jobs that slips over a 4x4 post. Seems that the previous occupant had set a single 2x4 in concrete & it had rotted off at ground level. Dug in a treated 4x4 beside the concrete. Put a "Fragile" note on the door next day. She got the humor, left a note with a "smiley face" for me. Willie
