Following info is about gas, kerosene and distillate SM tractors. March of 1953 was when the chassis was changed to install a engine driven pump and hydraulic system at serial numbers F-28175 or L-504802. Or the countershaft driven liftall could still be specified and the engine driven hydraulics left off. One easy way to spot a gas, kerosene or distillate was before chassis changed the clutch housing used 2 bolt starter mounting, after chassis changes 3 bolt mount starters, battery under seat ETC. Picture is of the bracket for control rods only used on a stage 2 SM that came with a countershaft driven liftall since there was no reservoir unit there for the bracket and rear tank support like normal on a stage 2 SM.
