If you had all that stuff done to your ear, You may have no choice. I"ve had regular ear infections pretty much from when I was a baby and I am 49.
What I do when I bushhog: I wear a dust mask AND hearing protection. Not the flimsy dust mask everybody sells that doesn"t do anything, one with 2 straps so it seals to my face and it is thick enough to stop the dust. I bought 3M masks for years but the last box said ACE Hardware on it and was from far off Cathay. (but they do work)
Yes it is HOT! but its well worth the discomfort. The last guy I recommended them to insisted he would never be caught wearing such operating a tractor. If that is the way you feel, well I guess you have to deal with the consequenses.
How it works for me: I get the stuff up in my nose, then it runs down in my throat and from there up the ear canal while I am sleeping and then infection sets in up in the ear.
The last box of 10 was about $16-18. A box of 10 is a lot cheaper than a pack of 2 for $5 or $6. I don"t know how many boxes I can buy with the cost of 1 Dr. visit.

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
