I agree with Rick. But sometimes you have to learn for yourself. A baler that works well but has some yrs. on it could go for $400-600. These are old timers: MF 10, 12's or the old Blue Ford balers. Hay rakes can go from $200 for old timers up to $1,000+ if a newer speed rake by NH. You have repairs on this old stuff. Major repairs on a twisted PTO systems on balers, mowers etc. can run around $500. I had that happen to me last yr. for NH 479 mower, the pto came apart and got bent bad. Then all the time you spend cutting raking and baling. One last thought if you are planning on branching out and doing more than your own hay. You will want more power.
