I posted that foolishness in an effort to point out that we seem to have a desire to go backward in this country. Somehow, we have been convinced that "government" is the enemy, but the same people that are telling us to hate "government" are running for public office. We can shut down the post offices, close the IRS offices, take out all the stop signs and traffic signals, close all of the two lane roads, and all we are doing is going backwards. As far as privatizing, that's been tried, and nobody enjoys working without a profit. When we compare FedEx and UPS to the USPS, it is an unfair comparison. When that FedEx driver starts coming by my house 6 days a week to see if I have any outgoing, I'll consider the comparison to be credible.
I hate to say it again, but we fought two wars off the books, with two tax credits to boot, and our country is suffering to pay the cost. Anytime you want to start a war, raise the taxes to finance it, and re-start the draft. That will put the brakes on the war talk.
