The early (prior to 1977) LGT tractors did not have the side covers over the engine. The engines on these early models were mounted to the frame by welding the oil pan directly to the side rails. The later tractors had the side covers and the engine was mounted in a cradle with rubber isolation dampeners which reduced vibration through the tractor frame. I have a couple of LGT 165s of the later vintage. The last 4 digits of the model number for the 1977 and up tractors is 3337. eg: one of mine has model #09JC3337. Does this help?
