With having only 52% of my hearing, once we got a phone contract with texting, I was in heaven!! It also works for me at work when ordering parts, keeps people from misunderstanding numbers or certain letters/words as my speech isn't the best, not being able to hear all the sounds certain consonant/vowels make. Don't knock it completely, there's a good and a bad for all of it!!
