Out of all of the mowers I listed the other day I'm down to either the 265 or the GT242. But I also came across an LX188 with the water cooled 17hp Kaw and it looks like a 38inch deck but the owner swears it's a 42. I've just seen pics of it but I'm going to look at it tomorrow. It looks perfect and appears to be an excellent shape. Bottom dollar is a grand even.
The 265 has the older style deck and the owner says he can't make out what the hour meter reads...seems a little odd to me. Pics look good though. I'm going to try and see it on Sunday if I don't buy the lx188.
The gt242 is in near perfect shape. An older gentleman has use it on an very small yard the past 10 years. But I worry about it being to small, both on deck size and hp, as I'm a big guy and basically the entire yard is unlevel and mostly hill. But it's still a very nice mower.
If the lx188 has a 42 inch deck how does it compare to the 265? Asking price on the 265 is still $1100 but I think a grand will buy it as well. Just concerned about the older deck and the hours...still haven't found any other used mower of any brand in my price range. Apparently east Ky is a mower dead zone. Appreciate the help.

If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep. The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
