being self sufficient has nothing to do with inheriting any thing. I grew up with in a comfortable home but when 18 came along I was expected to take care of myself. Went to school on my own, got jobs and worked hard doing a little extra when I could. Joined the Air Force and spent the better part of 6 years there, Got married and supported my family thru hard work and sacrifice. I have had 4 successful business's. Gave the first to my ex-wife and started over at 41 YO and continued to work hard. At one time I had a full time job and 3 part time jobs. Started 3 more successful companies and sold them all for decent money. Retied at 65. Self sufficiency means get out and do something, don't take the govt money and be a decent person and do not expect anyone to help you.
