Sorry about the loss. You didn't have time to prepare for it like you do with an old dog that finally succumbs.
When I buried my last two dogs I couldn't see through the tears as I carried it out to the field in the loader to bury it. I swore off getting another dog because it was too hard to say good bye. That only lasted a few years until my son got a chocolate Lab when he lived in town and it needed space and dad had a farm and, well, you know the rest. There's gonna be another tough farewell coming up but I hope it's long into the future. Jim
