I"ve got the same issue. 6 foot mower. Behind my older Ford 4000 it"s as wide as the back tires. If I use it with my 3020 the mower seems tiny, and the tires are a few (5-6) inches wider than the mower on each side. I"m thinking about looking for a wider mower. A new 8 foot mower costs about double what a new 6 foot mower costs, and I"m guessing used will track similarly?
Is there a huge downside (other than time and not being able to cut close to fences/panels which is my main concern) to the mower being too narrow? It seems that the grass that lies down under the wheels doesn"t stand back up in time anyway, so I"ve got longer streaks with the narrow tractor.
