If your dog or cat wanders onto my lawn, I don't have the right to shoot it under most circumstances. If your kids plastic sled blows into my yard, I don't have the right to keep it or destroy it or anything else. It's what under the law is referred to as "Found Property" and there are laws regarding the proper handling of such property.
