Over my week off we dug our potatoes. Didn't get nearly as many as we thought. I bet as many as we got at least that many are still in the ground. The digger was not working right, we had to many weeds, rain delayed us, and the hydraulic lever on the Super M broke. Glad they are out but i don't think we will plant this many next year. 10 rows about 100 yards long. The ground was a little to wet. Some of the potatoes would fall off the side instead of going up the chain, then get run over by the wheels and cut them. So all in all we got them out of the ground but I want to look at buying a better digger next year.
First pic is the first 3 rows we dug. Second is the broken lever. I fixed it by welding. Probably shouldn't have but it worked Third is where the rows are. Fourth is the tractor and digger. Then a few of the digger. Finally one of me that my brother-in-law took that looks pretty cool.

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
