Timing procedure for Allis mag fired engines.
pull engine up to TDC #1. Take off the distributor cap (the outer one). There will be a small lug inside the housing of the inner or big cap. Turn the mag backwards till the rotor lines up with the lug. Assemble to the engine and you will be close enough to get running. Then when running tune to order. This is also the proper procedure if you have removed the governor.
