I wish I had an answer.
I had a 1978(I think the last year before the S-series) Fleetstar 2010A, DT466, for ten years, approx. 1990-2000. Then I found a 1990 8100 air ride tandem w/Cummins L10 far enough south it was clean. I switched the box myself, but needed a heavier hoist. It cost $4000 back in 2000-2001!
For a few years I have been thinking about something different, or additional. Straight trucks, boxes, and hoist prices are ridiculous. I had just about made up my mind to find a cheap single axle tractor, and buy a single hopper trailer. But that would mean a class A license and physical. Enough time has passed, the mill where I have gone for years is slowing way down, I've got neighbors with tractor trailers, and I'm thinking I'll live with what I've got.
