About a month ago I pulled onto a 55 MPH highway on the way to church and after I'd accelerated for awhile I looked down at the speedometer and saw 72 MPH so I backed off. Crested a little knoll and a pickup was coming at me with the lights flashing. It was a reserve deputy and he clocked me at 72. He ran my license and gave me a verbal warning. I don't think he was authorized to write tickets. We got to talking and he turned out to be the son of a neighbor of mine. When we got to church I found out the news had beat me to church. One of my classmates who goes to my church heard my name on his scanner.
I've been picked up for speeding twice in my life and only got a tongue lashing both times. Next time I might. to be so lucky. I've been wound a little tight this summer and one of the side affects is a right foot that's closer to the floor.
