Back in the late 80s I was on a parts run in my trusty Chevy 1ton. I was coming down a long hill and saw a cop coming at me fast and you guessed it as we passed he hit his brakes so I just pulled over and waited for him. He came up to the truck real cocky, He said I got you dead to rights going 78 in a 55 and started writing the ticket. He said aren't you going to say anything? Why? Your still going to write the ticket no matter what I say. Your right! He handed me the ticket and said Have a nice day. I said you too and see you in court!
I was not going to pay the ticket for something I know I didn't do so I went to court to see the judge. My name was called I went up and was asked for my plee , not guilty. Judge looked over his glasses at me and said are you sure about that? The officer is right there and says you did 78 in a 55, You want to try again? No sir not guilty. My truck will not go that fast. I don't believe you said the judge. Well I'll pay double the fine if you can get my truck to 78 mph and held my keys up. I'll take that bet and when I come back not only will you pay double the fine I am going to double the points on too! Fair enough! He took my keys and left with the officer to go for a ride. They came back 1/2 hour later and looked at me with a smile and said case dismissed, He said at 50 mph that thing is screaming and at 55 I thought it was going to fly apart! Why? Simple 456 gears and 8.25x16.5 tires its made to pull not fly. He did get on the officer good in court about the ticket and speeding down the hill to make the radar read 78. I left the court room with a smile on my face and no court costs! Bandit

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
