I do very well remember as kids we ate after the grown ups were done, Its was a killer to smell grams fried chicken mashed taters and gravy, green beans and corn on the cob and of course her corn bread and have to wait with your mouth watering the hole time.
The whole Vietnam War as a kid just didn't make cense to me. I grew up with uncles who served in WW2 and Korea and I can still hear them going on about how stupid the Generals were in charge at the time. Take ground in a battle keep it for a week then pull out only to turn around and fight to take it back a month late and loose more men, Didn't make any cense. I still feel sorry for the men and women who served as they didn't have a choice but to go, They were drafted. They did there tour not wanting to be there loosing buddies every day and loosing there minds in the process. They cam home to be spit on called baby killers and not being able to find jobs because of being in the war OR police action as some called it. My hat is off to all of those who served in that long ago war who did as there country asked them to do and never got there true welcome home. Bandit
