I had the chance to go to the Rock River Thresheree Friday and Saturday. It was a very good show. They have a very nice grounds for the show. The attendance was not as high as I expected but I think the threat of rain Saturday hurt.
I could see that this show is changing. There where younger people involved as members. This is good. There did seem to be some friction from some of the old timers. I think that has caused them some issues. Some exhibits where incomplete. Almost like they fell by the way side. Other exhibits where very lightly manned. I think they are having more older members not be able to help. There is shortage of younger members with the willingness to learn some of the stuff.
All in all a pretty great show. I will be going again. I usually do a 3-4 year rotation on the larger shows. That way they change some before I get back to them. It makes them seem fresher when I get back to them.
Here they where plowing with and Advanced Steam engine. The ground was pretty tough and the engine was rated at 25 HP on the drawbar. IIRC. So they where only pulling 4 of the 8 bottoms.
Here is a "Gray" tractor. 20-40 HP tractor I think it is a 1926 model. It was made in Milwaukee If I remember correctly. It has a single rear drive wheel/roller. It is as wide as the whole rear of the tractor. The company made orchard tractors so they covered the complete tractor with a roof. It was corrugated roofing when new.
Here is a four Mule team plowing. They really moved along the ground pretty fast.
IH was the feature. Here is a F-20 loaded on a IH truck. Both are in great shape.
Here is a Allis Chalmers "G" pulling a kid train.
Here is a mining truck that was made by a company in Ohio on a IH 10-20 chassis. The rear end was flipped over and then they ran backwards. The bed dumped by gravity. Then you where supposed to be able to level the dirt/gravel with the bottom of the bed lip. The owner said you where total blind when the bed dumped as you can't see around it. He also said the brakes where terrible. That it would not stop itself on even small grades empty. He would not take it through the parade as they go down into a "bowl" and he said the just about hit a fellow when he tried it in the parade before.
Nice Ford pickup. Some one did a beautiful job restoring it. I think it had around 36K on it for miles. It is for sale for $15,000.
Here is a JD 2010 that is propane fueled. I do not know if it is a factory kit or not. It just caught my eye.
Here is a IH I-12 tractor. I have never seen one before. It would fit in the back of your pickup as it was pretty small.
Nice smaller IH manure spreader. It would work well on this forum. LOL
I have a few more pictures I am going to post. They will interest a smaller group than these.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
