What will work on a buzz saw will not work on a hammermill because of size of pullys. The saw will have a 6" diameter or larger pully on and that will acomidate the belt lacing for a spliced belt, now the hammermill has a 4" diameter pully on it and that lacing will not follow the small diameter of the hammermill pully without tearing the lacing out. Also it cannot be a canvas type belt as they will also not work on the small diameter of the hammermill pully. Cannot comment on quality of baler belt as have never been around but I still have 2 buzz saws and did a lot of feed grinding with a hammermill belt. Ruined our corn shreader belt (laced belt) by putting it on the hammer mill. You need a endless rubber belt for the hammer mill. And if you can find a good one (questionable) used it will be over a hundred dollars. Also a Hammer mill belt should be longer than a stationary saw belt and the 3 point saw the belt is about 9', front tractor mount saw about 20' all depending on tractor and saw model. And to measure a belt you measure total length and not one side. And to buy new endless belts they are figgured on length before splice and that makes them 3' shorter than specified length.
