It depends what you buy . i get jerseys straight from a farmer and pay cash.one thing i like is that being a smaller animal you end up by having enough for a small family. Also i aim for harvest time not weight to butcher. buy late winter early spring feed one winter and butcher before the next winter regardless of size. I also use them as lawnmowers throw up hot wire after a couple days pull them off and remove hot wire basically i eat my lawn ever 2 yrs
