Had a LE salesman talk his way into the plant. He did a very complete survey of all the equipment, matched up their products to each piece of equipment, set up maintenance charts, did a really nice job.
He set us up with everything we needed, came by regularly to check on the supplies. But when it came time to reorder he hit us with a "minimum" purchase amount. No way! We couldn't possibly store the quantity they wanted us to buy. And it was very pricey, about double what I paid piecing it together from different sources. But I understood we were paying for a service, not just the oil. I talked him into just selling what we needed and we did business for several years.
But I did have a problem with one product, the 140w gear oil, which we used a lot of... It would not stay in the gear boxes! It would leak, I mean a large leak, dripping leak, then stop. (Leaking oil around food is not good!) I could change the seals, didn't always fix it, same problem, leak and stop...
I finally started using synthetic gear oil, a different brand, stopped the problem.
By this time the salesman had stopped coming by, think his health may have forced him to retire. No one at the LE office seemed to know what was going on, weren't interested in my small potatoes, so we phased them out.
