My wife and I were talking this evening about a young, ex-friend of mine, that I recently ran off after he turned from a nice kid into an arrogant little ------ Can't say those words here----. Anyways, he found out this afternoon that the car he had left sitting in my way for the last year had recently met the repo man.....guess he shouldn't have cursed me and ticked me off when I didn't kiss his --- like he wanted. All it took was a phone call and the nice lady was more than willing to get it picked up and moved out of my way....LOL

Anyways, he called me this afternoon and started running his mouth about the repo, the stuff he had left in the car, etc, along with the usual lying. The funny thing is for the majority of his lies, I already knew the real story because I had heard it from the folks on the other side of the equation. Folks like the deputy that served him, and the lady at the bank that had the repo done. Heck, we got a call when he was served yesterday, and I got a call from the bank lady today, right after he called her, to let me know he was on a rant. Too, I knew from something else someone had said that he did one thing yesterday in one direction when he was telling me he did another in the total opposite direction. In other words for every lie he told I already knew the truth. It seemed to really blow his mind that I knew all of these things given the pause, and stumbles to recover, each time I called him on something.

That said, I'm only 46, but I know a lot of different people, across a lot of different lines of work. In other words I can get tapped into a pretty good grapevine of information when I need to.

Sorry for the long lead in, but I remember growing up I could never seen to get away with anything without Dad knowing about it. Once, in high school, I ran out of gas in Charlotte on my way downtown to the main library to do some research for a school paper. I got the truck rolled back into a parking lot, out of the road, ran to get some gas from the nearest station, and got myself back going. I never saw anyone I knew, or had anyone stop to help. When I got home that evening the first thing Dad asked was how things had gone, and had anything happened. I said no. Heck, I really didn't think the truck running out because I was stopped on a hill, and me getting it going myself was anything really worth mentioning...not to mention I was sort of embarrassed about the whole incident too. The funny thing is Dad already knew what had happened, he just wanted to see what I had to say on the matter. To this day I have no clue how he found out about me running out of gas without me telling him. He was always like me, knew people everywhere, so I can only imagine someone he knew saw me and passed the story on. One thing, it always made me think before I did anything because it was like he had eyes everywhere....and in reality I think he almost did at times....LOL

Now, with the network of people I know, and sometimes being able to blow a younger kids mind with the things I find out on them, I'm finally starting to understand how things work.

So, that's my story. Now, what kinds of things did you guys do that no one knew about, when you did it....and there was no way anyone could know about it.... but you later found out that SOMEONE, like your Mom or Dad, did know and you were, as they say, busted?

So, come on, fess up. I know with this group, there have got to be some really good stories out there.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
