Anderson seed in the Norseland/ St Peter area is where I get a lot of my seed, they are a very small regional breeder. They use big m traits if you want traits, they grow some conventional seed too.
In my soils, my wet climate, I've been real happy with their stuff.
They might not cover a wide area, they only breed for here local. But if you feel like trying something different, they don't have any programs or gimmicks, drive up in spring before planting, load up, write a check, the owners are the mechanics are the badgers are the graders and will be throwing th seed on your truck....tho the 3rd generation is starting to help a lot now.
I find their corn yields a tad more, but is a tad wetter, than my big name test bags. In my conditions, my soils, etc.....
There are others out there in the state too.
I've planted some Viking corn from Albert Lea Seeds, but haven't quite been impressed always. An option tho, nice place to do business, have some good beans and lots of fun and unusual seed.
