If anyone hasn't seen Ken Christopherson's post below, "Out for a Ride. . .", take a look. Very cute marriage proposal during a tractor parade.
Which brings to mind- have you been involved in a unique marriage proposal? Ever witnessed one?
Mine was nothing really special- the future Mrs. (WA) and I had just watched "The African Queen" on TV, which is a great love story, and it was just kind of spontaneous- I didn't have a ring or anything. We were both poor as church mice (college students), so couldn't afford one, anyhow.
#2 son had his girlfriend of 4 years or so at his graduation from Washington State U, along with both sets of parents and various siblings, etc. After graduation, he said "I've got tables reserved at the Student Union for a celebration." So we all walked up the hill. Just before we got there, he said he wanted to show Karryn the view- as he walked by, he said quietly "Kodak moment comin' up". And at the viewpoint, went down on one knee, etc. I guess she said Yes, because there was much kissing thereafter. Their 3 kids are 8, 6 and 2.
#1 son and #3 son-in-law both asked their prospective fathers-in-law for their daughters' hand in marriage, but the proposals were not public. For my part, I managed to keep a straight face and play along with the solemnity of the moment.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
