Have done many of these sleeves pull the sleeves out check to see if you cut one putting it in, also check to see if the webs in the block are cracked or pittedwhen installing the sleeves I do not use oil or grease . use liquid dish soap on the o rings or murphy oil soap [ make sureyou get it out of the house with out wifey seeing you icatch it all the time ] and the bore in the block I always run a cyl hone very lighty in the bore also make sure the chamfer in the bottom is good and claen a speck of rust could cause alot of problems . as far as silicone dont use it in internal engine also Iwould use new gaskets becaused you have already compressed them tha might cause more work the agravation out weighs the cost also check for pits in the lower bore if very bad that could cause the leak
