Back in the day, I was working with a dealer salesman one day and he said we had an appointment for lunch with the Director of Public Works of one of the suburbs of Detroit. He told me that the guy was a retired colonel from the army.
Later, sitting in a dark booth, the salesman handed the guy an envelope with money in it. The Director looked into the envelope and said: "You'll get the bid" (for equipment that wasn't mine). I started to look around to see if we were under survalence. Was glad to get out of there, as I am definately allergic to handcuffs.
