OK here is his defense and backing for his claims:
“My stomach is upset,” he said to the committee. ”I’m having some rectal disorders, as a matter of fact. And I am hard to live with. I want you to disregard all the opposing counsel has said. I think they are delusionary. I think they have had something funny for lunch in their meal. I think they should be handcuffed to a chain-linked fence and flogged. And all of their hearsay evidence should be thrown the hell out. And if they lie again, I’m going to go over and kick them in the crotch.”
OK, colorful but hardly proof of innocence. In fact when they expelled him only one vote was cast in his favor, by another dirty politician who was in trouble at the time.
You may like him because he yelled about outsourcing. But trying to outlaw outsourcing would be against the law. So yelling about it when it's impossible to do anything about it is showboating and only fools the voters. Guess what? The current administration is trying to figure out a way to say companies can't move their HQ to another country. Wonder why they haven't done it? Because there is nothing that grants them the power to do it. In other words it's illegal to stop companies form doing just that. It's the government that is being unpatriotic taxing companies to the point where they are leaving the US. That is going to hurt the US economy in the long run. The company doesn't owe the government patriotism. They owe the stock holder the best possible return on their investment. If there is no return they will invest their money overseas. And that's going to hurt a lot of working class people who are relying on 401k's for retirement. Unless those managing the 401k's dumps stocks in US based companies and only invest in foreign based companies to get a better return. It's like a year or so ago they tried coming up with a way to prevent or punish US citizens who exercise their right to renounce their citizenship. You start taking away basic rights where does it stop?
Just because what he said seemed to make sense to you doesn't mean it would be legal.
And don't get me wrong. I don't trust any politician. Given the chance they will all betray the voting public for personal gain. Party affiliation has nothing to do with it.
