It is still dark at 6.30 here in the north country and I can't see my tractor. The temp is 53 and might reach 70 one more time and then it is all down hill from there. I checked the coolant in the tractor for freezing level and it looks like I am ready for 50 below. Hope that is enough. One can never be sure in this icebox.
I have the combine ready to start the corn, if I can find the money to buy fuel. Leaves are still on my small patch of soybeans so it will be awhile before they are ready.
So are any of you like me? Had to spend most of my crop money to buy seed and fertilize and fuel to plant the crop and now, with corn and soybean prices on the down elevator, I need to find a way to finance the harvesting. I believe I should have saved my summer wages,
