Around me the rimfire stuff is still hard to come by. It's not as bad as it was for a while, when none at all could be found, but now it's the smaller packs of the 'good stuff' that's about all I see. The cheap bricks of target ammo haven't been seen on the retail shelves for a long time. About the only place they are available is if you are willing, stupid, or desperate enough to pay a 300 to 400% markup from some sorry individual who bought every brick that hit the shelf for standard retail, and decided to make a buck off the suckers in the world.
As far as center fire stuff, our local WalMarts, and other gun/ammo stores seem to be well blessed with just about anything you want.
The only better way to get anything you want is to hit your local gun shows. I can easily buy 500 to 1000 rounds, or more, of 7.62 x 39 to feed my SKS and my AK's, or anything else I might need to feed my other 'hunting' rifles, usually for about the same, or less than any of the other stores. A year or so ago that was a near impossibility. Or should I say that IF they had the ammo, it was so high priced you couldn't afford to buy it, even if they had it.
Now if the 22 LR would just get back to normal...it would sure make our family time spent together shooting a whole lot cheaper.......

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
